history
HG Fine Art began as Hubert Gallery over three decades ago on Manhattan's Upper East Side on the corner of Madison Ave & 80th Street. The gallery was founded in 1989 by Greg Hubert who specialized in Modern Master works on paper by such artists as Matisse, Picasso, Miro and Calder. In 2016, the gallery moved to a historic townhouse at 16 East 79th Street where it focused on exhibiting works by contemporary artists. In 2023, Lydia May Furuta, the longtime Director of the gallery, took over as owner and shortened the gallery name to HG Fine Art. In 2025, after nearly ten years, the gallery moved back to Madison Ave to 764 Madison Ave near the corner of 66th Street.
Location
The gallery is located at 764 Madison Ave (between 65th & 66th Streets). We are open Thursdays from 12 - 5 pm and by appointment.
